BNP Paribas Foundation, patron of Avignon Dance Festival

- A long-lasting partnership
For six years, the partnership between the BNP Paribas Foundation and the Festival of Avignon have resulted in the dissemination of works, the mobility of young artists and detecting new talents. It also contributed to the creation of Wajdi Mouawad's Des Femmes in 2011, Puz / zle Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui in 2012 and Particules élémentaires of Michel Houellebecq, directed by Julien Gosselin in 2013. The arrival of Olivier Py the head of the Festival in 2013, artist long supported by the Foundation, gave a new impetus to this partnership.
In 2015, the BNP Paribas Foundation has strengthened its commitment by becoming the patron of dance at the Avignon Festival. For the next three editions, the BNP Paribas Foundation accompany contemporary dance in the Festival, including supporting the program of shows and allowing the organization of professional meetings.
- The 69th edition of the Festival
For the 2015 edition of the festival, more than 35,000 spectators will discover seven choreographic works, including five creations, supported by the BNP Paribas Foundation: those of Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh, Shechter, Fabrice Lambert, Gaëlle Bourges, Eszter Salamon, Fatou Cissé and that of Angelin Preljocaj which the BNP Paribas Foundation has accompanied for many years. The Preljocaj Ballet, celebrating its thirtieth anniversary in 2015, will present the world premiere his new creation Retour à Berratham in the courtyard of the Palace of the Popes of the 17 to 25 July. This play based on the text of Laurent Mauvignier will be scenographied by Adel Abdessemed.
Moreover, with the support of the BNP Paribas Foundation, two professional meetings are organized by the Union of Choreographers Associates in partnership with the Association of Dance Researchers whose theme will be "Author dancing today? "And" Inventing the Choreographic Centre of tomorrow. "
