A series of four conferences on the SDGs
The SDGs are everyone’s business. They concern society, governments as well as the private sector. The CSR strategy of BNP Paribas Group, which is based on 4 pillars and 12 commitments, is in line with these 17 goals, which are mainly intended to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all.In order to raise BNP Paribas employees’ awareness of these challenges, the CSR department is organising a series of four conferences on the SDGs. On the occasion of the first conference, “BNP Paribas and #GlobalGoals”, which was held on Thursday 9 March 2017 in Paris, Martina Otto, Head of the Cities & Lifestyles Unit of UNEP, presented the aims, impacts and players involved in the SDGs.
In what way is the CSR policy of BNP Paribas Group in line with the SDGs?
CIB: enabling investors to have an impact and contribute to the SDGs
In October 2016, BNP Paribas Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) obtained the exclusive licence for the Solactive Sustainable Development Goals World Index. This new equity index enables private and institutional investors to invest in companies identified as making a significant contribution to achieving the SDGs, through the products they offer or their exemplary conduct.
BNP Paribas Investment Partners: when Asset Management responds to SDGs
BNP Paribas has implemented a system to support the SDGs
In addition to these targeted actions, BNP Paribas has also introduced a system to provide broader support to the SDGs. Since 2016, the Bank’s CSR dashboard has included an indicator intended to measure the shares of loans to companies strictly intended to contribute to achieving the SDGs.
