As one of the few corporate sponsors to provide support for jazz musicians, BNP Paribas is pleased to be a partner of the 2015 edition of North Sea Jazz Festival for his fortieth birthday.
As one of the largest jazz festivals in the world, the North Sea Jazz Festival takes place from 10 to 12 July 2015 in Rotterdam. Each year, more than 65,000 visitors come to enjoy the performances of some 1300 musicians on the fifteen scenes of the sports hall Ahoy Rotterdam.
All musical styles are included in the programming of the North Sea Jazz Festival. New Orleans jazz, swing, bop, free jazz, fusion, avant-garde and electro, to blues, gospel, funk, soul, R & B, hip hop, world beat and Latin. This year, it welcomes references such as Avishai Cohen, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Lizz Wright, Jamie Cullum, Herbie Hancock, Paolo Nutini, Lionel Richie, Dianne Reeves and Marcus Miller Curtis Harding, but the young jazz notes also has its place with Selah Sue, Benjamin Clementine, Thomas Enhco, Melody Gardot and Tigran Hamasyan, to name a few of them.
Beyond the support for the event, BNP Paribas, with the support of its Foundation, is committed to supporting the "North Sea Jazz Kids" and the "Prix Paul Award" initiatives that aim to open the music for younger and to encourage developing artists. This year, the winner of the Paul Acket Award is Tigran Hamasyan young Armenian pianist which is supported… by the BNP Paribas Foundation since 2008!
