BNP Paribas Cardif signed the Principles for the Responsible Investment (PRI) and the Montreal Carbon Pledge. These two initiatives reaffirm its commitment in favour of the Socially responsible Investment and is extending it by measuring the carbon footprint of its investment portfolio.
What are the Principles for the Responsible Investment? Introduced by the United Nations Environment Programme Financial Initiative and the Pact World of the United Nations, they provide a working framework to the investors. These principles allow them to integrate environmental, social parameters and governance of company (ESG) into their decision-making. By signing them, BNP Paribas makes a commitment to be an active investor, to take into account the ESG questions in its processes of analysis, and to work to increase the efficiency of the application of these principles, among others.
The Montreal Carbon Pledge fosters the investors to measure and to publish every year the carbon footprint of their investment portfolio.
The signature of the PRI and Montreal Carbon Pledge are part of a longstanding commitment to a responsible and sustainable management of the general fund of BNP Paribas Cardif, introduced in 2008.
