BNP Paribas develops specific offers for migrant populations called migrant banking. In California, after the success of the Pacific Rim offer for Asian customers, Bank of the West turns itself to the Hispanic community, identifying its needs and creating products this high potential clientele. An advisor notices: "even if certain customers speak English, when they know that we have documentation in Spanish and that we speak Spanish, they want to discuss in their mother tongue".
In France, at Marseille and Montreuil-sous-bois, BNP Paribas pays a particular attention to the clientele from the Maghreb. In these branch offices, advisors speak Arabic and meet their international clients' needs. "We have a common culture: I try to welcome them the way they would be in their own country by creating a warm relationship, it's part of our culture", underlines a customer advisor from Marseille.
To better serve particular needs of the clients, bridges are also established with the banking subsidiaries of the Group in Tunisia (UBCI), in Marocco (BMCI) and in Algeria (BNP Paribas El Djazaïr). In those countries, as well as in Turkey, the subsidiaries of BNP Paribas also develop a migrant banking offer for their nationals living abroad.
