BNP Paribas supports the Women’s Forum Global Meeting, which will be held this year from 20 to 22 November 2019 at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. The theme at this 15th edition will be “Taking the lead for inclusion : accelerating impact”. Considered as one of the five most influential forums in the world by the Financial Times, the forum’s objective is to make women’s voices heard and bring their added value to global challenges in order to create a positive impact on communities and societies.
For three days, the Women’s Forum Global Meeting and its president Kristin Scott Thomas will bring together more than 2,500 influential business, institutional and political leaders from over 90 countries to debate global social and economic challenges for a more inclusive society.
The Paris edition of the Women’s Forum is intended to present all the concrete advances and plans for action resulting from regional meetings and “Daring Circles”, which took place during 2019.
Under the theme “Taking the lead for inclusion: accelerating impact”, the forum’s objective is to determine the accelerators for a more inclusive future.
On the programme: plenary sessions, conferences and networking.
A committed player in energy transition, women’s entrepreneurship and gender equality, BNP Paribas has supported the Women’s Forum for five years and has been a member of its strategic committee since 2018. The Group is involved in all five "Daring Circles" of the Women’s Forum.
Within the framework of the forum, the Group is in particular co-leader of the "Women & Climate Daring Circle" with L’Oréal. The purpose of this working group is to identify the necessary levers and initiatives to speed up the transition to a green economy and make it work for women’s empowerment. In 2019, at the margins of the G20 in Kyoto, this working group also signed a charter for engagement and women’s contribution to combating climate change.
In addition, BNP Paribas made a commitment to Senegal by signing a partnership with UN Women to developing climate change-resistant agriculture and female entrepreneurship in Northern Senegal. It also provides support to scientific research in Africa, through its Foundation, thanks to the One Planet Fellowship programme.
