US business magazine Fortune published in July its 2012 ‘Global 500' list, which ranks the world's largest corporations by revenue.
BNP Paribas appears in 30th position worldwide, among companies from all industries and sectors, ahead of Banco Santander (44th position), HSBC Holdings (53rd) and Citigroup (60th).
At European level, BNP Paribas is ranked as the 13th-biggest revenue earner, ahead of Banco Santander (17th) and Deutsche Bank (40th).
The country rankings for France show BNP Paribas standing on the third step of the podium, above Crédit Agricole, which came out in sixth place in France and 58th worldwide, and Société Générale, which took seventh spot in France and 67th worldwide.
BNP Paribas is thus ranked by Fortune as one of the top banks, both in European and global terms.
