The ceremony for this year's Historia Awards, awarded annually by the most popular history magazine in France, took place on 30 September at the Petit Palais in Paris, with BNP Paribas Chairman Baudouin Prot in attendance.

For the third year running BNP Paribas provided support to the Historia Awards, the only history award in France that honours works aimed at the general public.

In his address, Baudouin Prot underlined the importance that the Bank attaches to history as BNP Paribas' own rich history helps to strengthen the feeling of belonging among the Group's 180,000 employees all over the world. He also revealed that BNP Paribas is about to award, for the second time, an economic history prize, created by the French Economic History Association with the aim of promoting research in this specialized field.

The partnership between BNP Paribas and Historia magazine also resulted in the creation of a special brochure dedicated to BNP Paribas' architectural heritage in Europe, which was published to mark the 2013 European Heritage Days events.
