The prestigious credit rater A.M. Best, a worldwide insurance rating and information agency, has assigned its ratings "Financial Strength Rating" (FSR) and "Issuer Credit Rating" (ISR) to BNP Paribas Assurance S.A and its subsidiaries. BNP Paribas Assurance S.A. was given the highest FSR rating of an A+ (superior) and an ISR rating of an "aa", while its UK subsidiary also recieved a strong FSR rating of an A (excellent) and ICR of "a+". A.M. Best upgraded Cardif Life Insurance Company from a B++ (good) to an A- (excellent) and an ICR rating of an "a-" from a "bbb", reflecting Cardif's continued penetration of its core credit insurance market and its risk-adjusted capitalization.
A.M. Best believes that BNP Paribas Assurance's 2008 outlook is also likely to increase, proving it's continuing to strengthen its position in the insurance and financial markets.
