Role:
The candidate will form part of the Finance team and will work closely with various members of the team on a day-to-day basis. Reporting to the Deputy CFO, the role provides an opportunity to gain experience in both financial and management accounting. The candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate accounting and reporting of expenses and other financial results as well as financial planning and analysis for forecasts and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Expense analysis & reporting versus budget, prior year and forecast including variance analysis and commentary.
- Preparation of the annual budget and periodical forecast and monitoring of monthly operating result against budget.
- Assisting with the month and quarter end reporting deadlines.
- Maintaining systems and controls to ensure adequate backup documentation and audit trails.
- Cash flow preparation and analysis.
- Journal postings for accruals & prepayments.
- Maintain the company’s asset register for additions, disposals and depreciation.
- Assisting with requirements surrounding KYS and Procurement.
- Claims paid analytics including cash reconciliation.
- Assisting with internal and external auditors.
- Operational tasks including ledger entries & reconciliations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience required for this role:
The successful candidate must possess:
- strong proficiency with Microsoft Office especially Excel
- a business or accounting educational qualification such as a third-level degree, and part-qualified accountant.
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Other skills:
- Knowledge of IFRS and IAS financial accounting.
- Knowledge of Irish regulatory and insurance accounting is a plus.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
