What is this position about?
The Head of AML Transaction Monitoring Level 1 and Sun Fircosoft Hub is a regional position and key in the AML set-up for CIB APAC, working in strong collaboration with Business partners (Transaction Banking and Global Markets) and with Compliance teams, locally, regionally, and globally.
This position is accountable for the production of AML and Sanctions ex-post alerts management across APAC:
- Direct management of a small Subject Matter Expert team based in Singapore on “change-the-bank” initiatives. Drive change management on procedural framework, tool strategy, projects and specific activities to define / review detection scenarios.
- Management oversight on the production team based in India on “run-the-bank” daily operations.
Primary Role Responsibilities:
Supervise the alert production management:
• Production oversight on alert management framework managed by ISPL platform (daily alerts and aging levels, adherence to the Standard Analysis methodology and procedural framework), through the implementation / review of KPI reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
• Ensure Quality Assurance is conducted, and Secure remediation actions are identified and completed where necessary.
• Implement internal policies and initiatives in close collaboration with Business and Compliance stakeholders locally, regionally and globally.
• Take ownership of the budget and ensure its adherence.
Strengthen the AML TM L1 and Sanctions Screening frameworks in close partnership with Business Lines, Compliance AML APAC, locally, regionally, globally:
• Federate Business Lines (TBA, Corporate Coverage) on AML risks identification and control definition
• Lead projects linked to expansion scopes (eg Trade Finance, Global Markets etc.) with the support of ISPL for the management of additional volumes.
• Partner with AML global teams within LOD1 (AML TM Transformation, ITO FS, AML IT, Metier) to define target tools and associated operating model, for CIB and APAC, to improve the relevance of alerts generated.
• Continue to standardize fine-tuning methodology and explore data analysis strategies to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the framework.
• Drive/contribute to strategic group projects such as Correspondent Banking AML set-up in APAC.
• Run the CIB APAC AML OPCO, and actively contribute to the CIB APAC AML Steerco (run by Compliance) and other Global AML Committees.
• Design and manage resources / budget and negotiate with relevant Business Lines on new needs.

What is required for you to succeed?
• At least 15 years’ experience in banking /financial industry or handling AML transaction monitoring and investigation.
• A good understanding of corporate banking and trade finance transactions.
• Familiar with international AML regulations and sanctions.
• Ability to lead/coach/train a team of analysts as well as work independently.
• Ability to write concisely and clearly; and to produce clear constructive advice under pressure and within short timeframes.
• Must evidence an attention to detail and have an investigative and questioning nature.
• Design and propose solutions to better manage AML risks.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills, a flexible, collaborative, and team-oriented approach to problem-solving and an ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, and preferably with some experience of dealing in multiple countries in APAC region.
• Ideally be familiar with navigating the operational tools which support AML/CFT Compliance controls.
