On the Move #7: Inclusive mobility that leaves no one by the wayside
Often owners of the oldest, and therefore most polluting vehicles, modest households do not have the budget ease to adopt more sustainable mobility options. In France, 70% of electric cars are bought by 20% of the wealthiest households.
Regulatory constraints, such as the implementation of LEZs (Low Emission Zones that exclude “Crit'Air 3” vehicles from urban areas), and relatively high purchase prices for electric vehicles, have a strong impact on the degree of adoption of transition levers such as low-carbon emitting vehicles.
Inclusive mobility is mobility for all, leaving no one behind
As of 2035, in France and in Europe, it will be forbidden to sell internal combustion vehicles.
How can we ensure that everyone, including modest households, can engage in this shift?
"We will only succeed in the ecological transition when we find solutions for low-income households. The essential challenge is to find solutions to bring them into this ecological transition.”

Our "LOP 120" (Leasing with Option to Purchase) offer: a solution to finance an electric vehicle over 10 years
Far from current standards, BNP Paribas Personal Finance, Europe’s leader in retail financing, has developed an original offer. The “LOP 120” offer is a ten-year lease with option to purchase. At the end of the contract, the leaser can become owner of its electric vehicle.
"With the LOP 120 offer, the idea is to put the customer at the centre. If solutions are found that suit the customer, then they will work," concludes Christophe Michaeli
