Upon the recommendation of the FEB (Federation of Belgian Enterprises), on 18 June, Jean-Laurent Bonnafé received the honourable title of Officer of the Order of the Crown from Belgium's Deputy Prime Minister, Didier Reynders. The FEB expressed its recognition to BNP Paribas, and particularly Jean-Laurent Bonnafé, for supporting Belgium's economy and companies.
Didier Reynders underlined the crucial role played by Jean-Laurent Bonnafé in maintaining the solidity of Fortis Bank and successfully integrating the Belgian bank into the BNP Paribas Group.
The Order of the Crown was established in 1897 by Leopold II.
