BNP Paribas officially inaugurated Trade Centers in Panama City and the Colón Free Zone on 3 May. Panama Country Head Christian Giraudon presented BNP Paribas Panama and Jim Thompson the global Trade Center strategy to a meeting of 60 company representatives and members of the Panamanian government. Over 200 participants attended the opening ceremony of the first Trade Center in Latin America. They were joined by Nanette Ruiz-Gonzalez, Senior Trade Manager of Panama City, and Milano Camano, Senior Trade Manager of the Colón Free Zone. On 7 May, Jacques Desponts and Mexico Country Manager Pierre-Joseph Costa inaugurated the Mexico Trade Center on the occasion of the Salon Francia 2001 exhibition. Over 50 clients attended the ceremony, in which Sophie Brossard, Senior Trade Manager, was presented to the assembled guests. The Mexico Trade Center will rely on the Panama Trade Center as its back office for transaction processing.
