The shares were bought by a consortium led by Vienna International Airport in a EUR 95.6 million transaction.

In addition to receiving 40% of the capital stock, the consortium will take over management of the airport. The transaction will be followed by an IPO of at least 20% of the airport's stock held by the government on the Maltese stock exchange.

BNP Paribas Corporate Finance advised the government of Malta on this transaction.
