In early March, the BNP Paribas Economic Research Department launched a weekly video program called EcoTV Week. In a succinct two-minute format, the new show, presented by one of the Group's economists, covers the economic and financial events of the previous week as well as those that are anticipated in the coming days.
“This new format is both a weather forecast and a traffic warning in the economic domain. It uses its unique format to put the most prominent events into perspective. Its purpose isn't to provide in-depth focus, but to help the viewer (who is often floundering in a sea of media noise) to sift through the facts that are attracting the most attention in the markets. From this perspective, it's a format that has real educational benefits”, emphasises Michel Bernardini, in charge of Communication for BNP Paribas Economic Research Department.
This initiative complements the economic information program, which also includes the monthly webTV show EcoTV and the range of publications by the Economic Research Department, by sticking more closely than ever to the news and by giving the public a key to better understanding.
