On January 23, L'Atelier BNP Paribas became the preferred partner of WiSEED, a collective investment platform that enables individuals to invest in young startups.

WiSEED is the first European equity crowdfunding platform, providing collective financing for innovative young companies at the seed funding stage of their development. It connects entrepreneurs with the “WiSEED community”: more than 20,000 potential investors who interact with project creators.

Each month, the community votes on 10 innovative startups. Following an audit, three of these companies are selected, enabling them to raise between €50,000 and €500,000 against an equity stake of 5-20% of the company. With a minimum investment of €100, WiSEED allows investors to become shareholders of these companies.

All of the individual investments are combined into a single holding company, dedicated exclusively to this investment, in which each investor holds a stake. Thereafter, the platform monitors the project and maintains communication between investors and entrepreneurs.

As part of this partnership, L'Atelier BNP Paribas will act through the Open Innovation Lab, the intermediary between startups and major companies within L'Atelier's technology watch unit.
It will act as a springboard, selecting five young projects that address innovation challenges at BNP Paribas and enabling each one to test a prototype of their product or service within one of the Group's business lines.

“In addition to signalling a new stage in L'Atelier BNP Paribas' strategy of active and concrete support for innovative companies, this cooperation – like the one initiated with Ulule – fits into the global strategy of the BNP Paribas Group, which has positioned itself as a key player in financing the real economy”, concludes Louis Treussard, CEO of L'Atelier BNP Paribas.
