Preparing promising young players for the demands of top international competition
BNP Paribas, a loyal partner to French and world tennis since 1973, is keen to help develop the tennis of tomorrow. If they are to be able to compete with the best in the world one day, young tennis hopefuls in France face a major challenge – the cost of their training, which adds up to tens of thousands of euros.
On May 28, 2018, on the occasion of Roland-Garros, BNP Paribas launched the BNP Paribas Young Talents Team, in partnership with the French Tennis Federation (FFT). The support programme is intended to give 20 promising young French tennis talent the best possible chance of reaching the highest levels of competition and becoming the champions of tomorrow. The BNP Paribas Young Talent Team, mentored by tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, is part of the BNP Paribas Group’s commitment policy towards today’s youth.
The young players in the programme will benefit in two ways:
- financial assistance to take part in their sport ;
- human support to prepare them for the challenges of professional tennis (image management, English lessons, legal advice, planning ahead in case they eventually wish to switch careers, etc.).
