BNP Paribas recognised once again for its Gender Equality initiatives
For the third year running, BNP Paribas appears in the Bloomberg Financial Services Gender-Equality Index, clear recognition of the Group’s actions in this field.
Referencing companies for their commitment to striving for workplace equality between men and women
Launched in 2016, the aim of the BFGEI is to provide investors and stakeholders with aggregated data and insights into companies’ HR policies and their commitment to supporting gender equality. This index, which does not list the companies in ranked order, originally contained 26 companies from 7 countries.

The Group's commitment to gender equality
BNP Paribas, through its diversity policy, has been committed to professional equality for many years. Action in this field at the Group includes:
- High-profile commitment to gender equality by management, through such mechanisms as the United Nations' HeForShe campaign and the Women’s Forum.
- Significant efforts to overcome ‘unconscious bias’, and avoid biased decisions during the recruitment, promotion and compensation processes.
- The setting up of training/awareness-raising programmes, management sponsoring and monitoring of gender equality.
- Support for employee networks such as the BNP Paribas MixCity Association with its 23 networks all over the world, and the Happy Men network in France for example.
Today the Group has an action and monitoring mechanism in place which enables progress to be made year by year towards workplace equality and gender parity, in line with the drive to create a ‘good place to work’ and ensure ‘openness’ – values that form part of the BNP Paribas Way.
