BNP Paribas has confirmed its leadership position in the French M&A market, with $121.86 billion in transactions announced, ahead of JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley. It also ranks fourth in Europe, with $280.35 billion in transactions announced.
According to Thomson Financial, M&A deals hit an all-time high in Q1 2006, both in France and in Europe. In France, deals announced in the first half-year totaled $110.8 billion, three times the amount in the year-earlier period.
