Ambrose Akinmusire, 2014 Paul Acket Prize

The American trumpetist Ambrose Akinmusire has just been crowned by the 2014 Paul Acket Prize, during the Rotterdam North Sea Jazz Festival.

This prize, financed by the BNP Paribas Foundation, awards artists who start their career, and whose talent is recognized in the jazz milieu but not by the general public. « The BNP Paribas Foundation has been supporting jazz music for a long time" declares Jean-Jacques Goron, General Secretary of the BNP Paribas Foundation, "as a partner of the Paul Acket Prize, we wish to cordially congratulate Ambrose Akinmusire, a great trumpetist and a great composer, who is also an excellent producer, as proved by his last album, « The Imagined Savior is Far Easier to Paint », released in March 2014, at the legendary label Blue Note ».
