Agrifrance, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas Wealth Management, publishes its 2016 report on rural land investment and development of agriculture, vineyards and forest markets, which have generally recorded an overall increase last year. The study also proposes a special focus on the wood stave and barrel-making market, which is a flagship of French industry and enjoys a strong reputation internationally, with an annual domestic production of 550 000 barrels (34% of the worldwide production) , and generated a trade surplus of 327 million euros. This report also tells that nearly 2,000 hammer blows are necessary for the making of a barrel.
