What is this position about?
The LoD1 KYC QA Team support the KYC/Due Diligence units for APAC region based in Hong Kong to deliver robust/sustainable KYC standards and develop KYC staff via continuous training. The team act as liaison where necessary between the Compliance functions to clarify policy points that need clarification. The team also ensure governance of any gaps in the KYC quality targets and provide action plans to relevant local or regional CEP management to increase the file quality.
What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like?
Primary Role Responsibilities
•Provide Support in improving KYC file quality, oversight and governess to deliver quality targets expected by the senior management and applicable control policies.
•Perform “Post-Approval Quality Assurance Controls”
oEnsure QA has been completed within the allocated time .
oEnsure monthly QA result/findings are reviewed and agreed with the SKYCO Team and local DDT management.
•Identify “Root Causes of Quality Failure”
o Identify root causes impacting KYC quality, agree fail points with stakeholders, define & track action plan for quality recovery & continuous improvement measures.
o Ensure KYC quality recovery action plan is in-place and on-track to address quality weaknesses identified in QA testing.
•Monitor “File Remediation Tracker”
oTrack remediation of failed files during QA testing
oLog failed files requiring PFR/TFU in the tracker and monitor progress.
•Perform “Collection of Misalignments”
oIncrease alignment on KYC and financial security processes to harmonise the operational process and thus improve KYC quality.
•KYC Quality Awareness & TEA ( training , education and advisory )
oProvide training /sharing sessions with relevant stakeholders.
•Reporting and Quality Monitoring
oLead of team requires to monitor the QA process and provide KPIs to local CEP manager on a regular basis.
oEnsure all key issues are highlight and/ or escalate to local CEP Manager.
Other contributions
•Communication Skills: Able to interact with junior and senior staff across various departments in CIB including Compliance, Due Diligence, and the business where required.
•AML/CFT Knowledge: Able to leverage on AML/CFT knowledge to formulate an assessment in keeping with the risk the client presents to the bank.
•Analytical Skills: Advanced research, analytical and report writing skills: to review, analyse and evaluate findings. Also able to present complex issues in a succinct, simple and straightforward manner.
•Team player with strong work ethic and eager to learn.
What is required for you to succeed?
•Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
•Attention to detail with strong follow-up and good judgment.
•Ability to focus on speed and set the right priorities without compromising accuracy.
•Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision when required.
•Good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
•Proficient in English (spoken and written) and preferably Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin).
•Minimum with a bachelor degree.
