About the Job
- Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day task of the Global macro desk analyst team while actively participating in development and execution of special projects with a focus on FX (foreign exchange) or rates (interest rates) products. This position offers unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in market analysis, data analysis, and programming in python. This work involves working closely with Sales and Trading teams and involves collecting and analyzing markets data, developing python scripts, and generating key insights for clients. Key requirements for the role includes strong analytical ability, strong interest in global financial markets and proficient in Python
Your Main Activities Are
- Preparing Macro-economic trade ideas, Relative values ideas, Axe based ideas for clients. Ideas targeted for clients including Hedge funds, Real money among others
- In depth market analysis to find out dislocations in FX & Fixed income markets. Respond to client’s enquiries on markets
- Relative Value/Rich Cheap analysis for outright, switches and flies of bond, linkers, swaps, options (swaptions, cap & floor), FX options and other FX/Fixed income products
- Prepare pitch books of trade ideas and market analysis for client presentation and roadshows
- Provide insight on client flows to Sales & Trading
- Development of python and excel based analytical tools to find dislocations in the market, do scenario analysis, backtesting on trade ideas
- Work with our Dev teams & AI Lab to host RV signals in Front Office tools globally and to distribute curated trade ideas to Clients and Sales and Trading
- We collaborate closely with Sales & Trading to deeply understand client needs, preparing tailored content and implementing effective tools to enhance client engagement and drive increased flows
- Proactively focus on digitalization, automation and in general, using data and analytics to improve the client’s journey and the bank’s ability to grow market share in partnership with our Sales & Trading teams
Profile and Skills to Success
- Bachelor in Economics/ Finance
- Knowledge of Financial Markets & derivatives products
- Excel proficiency.
- Python programming knowledge
- Fluent in English
About the Team
- The Global Macro Desk Analyst team is a critical part of Global Macro business. Team is based in Lisbon and work with salespeople, traders, structurers and M360 colleagues across the globe. The team provides support through short term market analysis and production of trades ideas in Rates & FX products across the whole vanilla to exotics spectrum. The team also develops prices and monitors to price Fixed income & FX products
