Mobile Film Festival : 2015 winner Lionel Nakache tells more

The 12th Mobile Film Festival is underway, from 24 January to 21 February 2017! The principle is simple, and open to all: 1 mobile, 1 minute, 1 film. Lionel Nakache, the winner in 2015, looks back at this experience and the opportunities it has given him.

For the past 12 years already, the event has supported and promoted future film directors. It gives everyone with a mobile phone and imagination the chance to present their work and win one of eight prizes awarded by a jury. Selected by a jury of professionals, the winner receives a BNP PARIBAS grant of €15,000 and the support of a producer.

Lionel Nakache answers our questions and explains why he took part in the Mobile Film Festival, how winning it changed his life, and what tips he would give to the future participants.

Call for votes

The Mobile Film Festival presents its official selection of 51 films (25 French and 26 international entries from 18 countries). Chosen out of 750 films from 62 countries that responded to the call for entries, the selection resonates with the world and the themes that span it.

Votes are open to the public who will discover original, creative, forceful and often provocative works. This year’s edition is decidedly more feminine than previous ones, including in the topics covered, which refer to gender equality, violence against women, the hidden beauty of women or forced marriages.

From today until 21 February, the public can vote for the Audience Award in partnership with Topito on the Mobile Film Festival website.
