Fed Cup by BNP Paribas: a French victory dedicated to women’s financial independence

The final of the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas 2019 tournament took place on the 9 and 10 November in Perth, Australia, with France and Australia going head to head. At the end of a thrilling match it was France who became third-time competition winners, and dedicated the victory to gender equality.

Women’s financial independence – ace!

During this year’s matches, the Aces du Cœur fundraising effort meant that for every ace served, BNP Paribas would donate $300 AUD to Dress for Success Perth. The aim of Dress for Success is to provide women with the resources to achieve financial independence, including a support network, work wardrobe, and development tools to help them to flourish both personally and professionally.

The 34 aces counted over the course of the weekend meant that it was a cheque for $10,200 AUD awarded to Rachel Haine, the co-founder of Dress for Success Perth, at the start of the award ceremony.

Head to Budapest from the 14 to 19 April 2020 for the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Finals 2020 where, as finalists in the 2019 event, France and Australia have automatically qualified for this new competition format.
