Cardif has been authorized to set up insurance companies that will commercialize life and protection insurance in Peru (May 2006) and Mexico (June 2006).
Business will begin with the commercialization of creditor insurance, individual protection, and warranty extensions in partnership with financial institutions and supermarket/department store chains.
Peru's 27.5 million inhabitants generate more than $400 million in life insurance premiums; Mexico's, 107 million generate over $5 billion.
