Position Purpose
Senior Associate joining the team should be valuable in facilitating Corporate Action event information from Custodian to Investment Manager/Client and facilitate client elections. Also, we do record keeping activities to mitigate the risk that impacts fund valuation on back of a Corporate action event.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
Ø Analyzing the Corporate Action events to anticipate any reporting or processing issues.
Ø Collecting and relay any update related to the corporate event on an on-going basis.
Ø Cross-checking information received with other data sources.
Ø Reverting to relevant internal / external custodians to clarify/solve any open issue.
Ø Checking that all eligible positions have been instructed at response deadline.
Ø Accepting instructions with all necessary requirements and transmitting the same to custodian.
Ø Understanding and adhering to respective cutoff times within various applications and activities within the team
Ø Investigate and clear Reconciliation breaks daily and escalate breaks to immediate supervisors wherever necessary.
Ø Should perform EOD / BOD activities.
Ø Should work towards achieving the agreed KPI for the team.
Ø Answering queries via email, Telephone, query management application.
Ø Should ensure no emails, instructions are left pending without action.
Ø Ensure completion of relevant checklist to ensure all the task are effectively performed.
Ø Prioritization of various instructions received to meet the cutoff.
Ø Participate in Brainstorming Sessions and share the best practices and ideas with the peer groups and team members.
Ø Consistently evaluate and update documented procedures to ensure they are complete, accurate and current.
Ø Perform daily controls on team activity as per existing check lists to ensure priorities have been respected and tasks have been correctly performed.
Ø Escalate to the immediate supervisor in any incident or operational risk.
Ø Manage risk and priorities applying the existing procedures.
Ø To assist in providing the figures for the monthly KPI
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Ø Strong knowledge in handling corporate actions and income related events for various instrument types
Ø Accounting knowledge and knowledge on Swift messages, NAV is an added advantage.
Ø Zeal to learn new things.
Ø Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ø Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel will be useful.
Ø Must be prepared to work in flexible timings.
