The Corporate Actions team within BSO is responsible for researching and processing fixed income and equity corporate actions across the Australia and New Zealand markets, including complex events.
The Senior Analyst works closely with our onshore client account management teams and our extended offshore processing teams to deliver excellent outcomes for our local and global custody clients.
The Senior Analyst must be able to demonstrate accountability, attention to detail and strong problem solving capability. They must also be delivery focused and comfortable working in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
Key responsibilities
Thorough research of corporate action events, ensuring accurate and complete corporate action notifications are issued to our local and global clients for the Australia and New Zealand markets
Processing of corporate action events, including reconciliations and reviewing the processing performed by other team members
Ensuring controls are applied correctly, including performing sign off in our risk platforms
Workload allocation across the team, including our extended offshore processing teams
Ability to understand and manage complex queries, solutionise and present in a coherent client centric view, working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure the best quality response first time
Identifying opportunities for process and control enhancements, presenting solution proposals and working with IT to ensure the solutions are developed, tested and implemented successfully
Ability to analyse new scenarios and take a risk-based approach to identifying next steps
Staff training on new tasks and management of complex events
Delivering monthly control self assessments within the broader risk and control framework
Engagement with internal and external auditors
What do you need to succeed?
3+ years experience in financial services industry, with previous experience in corporate actions
Strong technical knowledge of corporate actions in the Australia and New Zealand markets
Desired knowledge, skill, experience
Having a degree qualified in Business, Accounting or related discipline; or relevant work experience in a similar role would be desirable
