Microfinance: portraits of BNP Paribas bankers committed to financial inclusion across three continents

Published On 07.02.2024

Since 1989, BNP Paribas has supported initiatives that enable people excluded from the banking system to access financial services and products. 35 years after the first partnership, the bank is now devoting more than EUR 345 million to supporting 21 microfinance institutions (MFIs) in 13 countries. Thus, end 2023, 260,000 beneficiaries were able to borrow from these MFIs to start or expand their business. To learn more about this passionate subject, we met with three employees from the teams dedicated to large corporates and financial institutions within Corporate & Investment Banking, which around the world mobilise to support our MFI partners and therefore micro-borrowers.
