When Hurricane Katrina ravaged Louisiana in 2005, BNP Paribas employees immediately demonstrated their desire to become personally involved in the reconstruction efforts. BNP Paribas participated in two new actions, last-April.

On April 24th and 25th, BNP Paribas North America sponsored the Continuity Cares program that allowed volunteers to work on several construction projects. This year, the participant rebuilt a house that had been destroyed by the hurricane.

An internal event recently organized by BNP Paribas Structured Finance and Corporate Coverage in the United States strengthened the initiatives of the BNP Paribas New Orleans Aid Brigade (a group created after the hurricane). From April 25th to 27th, 85 employees from the US and from France joined forces to help rebuild one of the city's many devastated play areas. For several hours, the team painted, stripped and rebuilt the infrastructure of the baseball court. Their efforts were amply rewarded by the joy of the children upon discovering their new court.
