2015 Jazz Festival at St Germain des Prés in Paris
True to its tradition, the Jazz Festival in Saint Germain des Prés Paris present for its 15th edition, from 21 May to 1 June 2015, a rich program bringing together artists from all backgrounds, headliners and young talents.
The Opening Concert at the Church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés will gather the famous guitarist Eric Bibb and Griot Ablaye Cissoko, which is supported by the BNP Paribas Foundation, for an evening combining blues, African music and gospel. The representatives of the new generation of jazz will also be present, such as Emil Afrasiyad, Christophe Girard & Melusine and the artists of the Young Talents Competition. Spectators will have the pleasure to come across some of the best artists of the moment, such as Kyle Eastwood at the Café des Editeurs, Tingvall Trio or Airelle Besson in the Réfectoire des Cordeliers, an outstanding trumpeter, also supported by the BNP Paribas Foundation.
The Festival will close with the concert of Lisa Simone (daughter of the famous Nina Simone) that will express all its fervor in soul music during a special concert at the Odeon Theatre. The Jazz Festival in Saint-Germain-des-Prés is also an opportunity for many groups to perform in concert in this legendary district of Paris. Do not miss the Afterjazzs, the "Champagne and Jazz", the "Jazz n’Chat" but also the Showcases and the great 50s Swing Ball at the Irish Cultural Center. With the support of the BNP Paribas Foundation, the jazz spirit is seizing Paris during the 10-days festival.
For 20 years, the BNP Paribas Foundation supports jazz musicians in the development of their musical careers, as well as jazz festivals in France and abroad.
