Position Purpose
- The role reports Head of Sustainability & Structured Trade Solutions for TB APAC.
- The candidate shall steer sustainability and structured trade topics across Transaction Banking APAC, leveraging on TB APAC sales and structurers to execute mandates.
Responsibilities
Manage, develop and grow the Sustainable Trade product offering for TB APAC:
- Sustainability Strategy & Vision: Define and implement a long-term strategy to drive growth in Sustainable Transaction Banking, including setting targets, identifying revenue opportunities, and aligning the portfolio with client action plans.
- Education & Advocacy: Act as a regional champion to educate staff and clients on sustainable finance, represent the bank in external forums, and collaborate with communications teams to produce impactful marketing materials.
- Product Innovation & Deployment: Conceptualize and deploy innovative sustainable products and data-driven solutions by working transversally across global banking functions and specialized ESG groups.
- Origination, Structuring & Industrialization: Support sales teams in client engagement while operationalizing frameworks to ensure sustainable assets and liabilities are seamlessly integrated, coded, and industrialised.
- Risk Management & Governance: Oversee the integrity of ESG deal structures to mitigate credit, operational, and greenwashing risks, while providing expert recommendations to senior leadership and Risk Committees.
Collaborate with GTS sales and product teams to develop Structured Trade Solutions offering for TB APAC:
- Complex Structure Design & Approval: Structure and advise the sales team on intricate, uni or multi-product trade structures covering receivables, inventory, capex, and guarantees.
- Governance & Stakeholder Sign-off: Secure formal approvals for complex mandates from TB Management, Credit Committees, and key governance bodies. Work with internal stakeholders viz. compliance, legal, finance, tax, etc. as required for structuring.
- Collaborative Market Engagement: Partner with GTS Sales, Trade Syndications, and Coverage teams to proactively market structured solutions.
- Cross-Functional Synergy: Drive TBA/GCM collaboration through active participation in specialized forums to promote integrated offerings.
- Pipeline Management & Landmark Execution: Maintain a robust pipeline of structured-trade assets with a focus on closing high-profile flagship deals.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- 10+ years of experience and solid track record in Trade Finance/transaction banking structuring, risk, sales & marketing, including credentials in delivering complex mandates / products.
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Banking, Finance, Law, Business or a closely related field.
- Proven ability to pitch, negotiate and close deals; professional, clear communication with senior management, internal departments, and external clients.
- Quickly identifies problems, evaluates options, makes decisive recommendations and involves appropriate stakeholders.
- Sets and maintains rigorous quality standards; efficiently prioritises tasks to deliver accurate results within agreed timelines.
- Advanced skills in AI, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting and presentations.
- Consistently communicates reliably and confidently with internal and external stakeholders; fosters teamwork by providing support, encouragement, and recognition of achievements.
