The role of a Project Manager is critical to ensuring that the company's projects are planned, launched, managed, and closed within budget and timelines, and that the best results are delivered.
Their responsibilities include:
- Planning, executing, and monitoring project activities to meet objectives,
- Defining project scope, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Identifying and managing project risks and issues.
- Coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet quality standards.
In summary, Project management is the process of coordinating and supervising the work of a team to achieve all project goals within the given constraints, that are scope, time, and budget.
Reporting line
The Projects, Change Management and Organization area inside CIB ITO (IT & Operations), directly reporting to the COO, supports CIB in several projects as well as in Business-as-usual issues.
The Project Manager reports to Head of Organization inside CIB ITO in Spain.
Objectives

Projects, process & systems could relate to Banking Operations, Regulatory Reporting & Finance mainly but not exclusively, they could also relate to other areas, it is a transversal project management position, across the CIB organization (*).
*Depending on the project, the specific role is local project management or local PM for central projects.
As our Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing successful projects, ensuring they are completed within the specified time limit, budget, and quality standards.
Your daily responsibilities and tasks at BNP Paribas CIB include all aspects of project scope, such as:
- Planning and implementing initiatives, including developing project plans, defining objectives and deliverables, creating detailed roadmaps, and organizing resources to meet project milestones.
- Functional analyst: business requirements analysis, project scope definition, creation of process flow documents and presentations, solution proposals, impact assessment, etc.
- Managing teams, including creating and leading project teams, assigning tasks, clarifying roles, and fostering a collaborative work environment, while providing guidance and support.
- Function as the primary point of contact for all things project-related, ensuring communication with team members and stakeholders while also meeting client needs.
- Manage potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them by monitoring risk factors, creating risk management plans, and coordinating issue resolution.
- Create and manage project budgets by estimating costs, tracking expenditures, and ensuring the project stays within the agreed budget.
- Ensure quality control by monitoring project deliverables and ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Make critical decisions throughout the project lifecycle, evaluating options, weighing risks and benefits, and considering feedback and input from team members and stakeholders.
- Track and report on project performance in terms of predefined metrics, taking corrective action if necessary to ensure the project is on track and project documentation is accurately recorded.
Other tasks:
- Jurisdiction management, user support as well as BAU incidents management and follow up.
- Contribution to centrally managed projects, assistance to final users to perform testing and validate results.
- Operational support.
- Regulatory policies analyst.
- Continuous Improvement. Proactively identifying areas for process improvement within the areas in the scope and offer improving or updating processes ensuring they align with internal rules / procedures or regulatory requirements.

Project Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, IT or related field preferred. However, work experience and other qualifications can demonstrate the ability to perform well in this role.
- 2-3 years of experience in project management roles at senior level.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, software, and tools.
- Understanding of risk management principles and techniques to manage project changes and ensure smooth transitions.
- Experience in budgeting, cost estimating, and general economic management. Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting will also be a plus.
- Additional certifications such as Project Management Professional will be highly valued.
- Proven experience in presenting results, interacting with senior management, and leading teams..
