We are looking for a Senior KYC Officer at the BNP Paribas SA Amsterdam Branch.

The position you’re applying for/Your new role

The Senior KYC Officer is situated within CIB Netherlands in Amsterdam and reports directly to the Head of Due Diligence.

The Senior KYC Officer’s (SKYCO) primary focus is to act as the first level of control (1B) in reviewing, advising and validating on the KYC (Know Your Client) due diligence assessment of prospective and existing clients. The SKYCO is also accountable for ensuring all relevant stakeholders sign-offs within the KYC Validation Process. On top of that, the SKYCO is involved in the training of the team members of the DD Department Key tasks in the role are - Data control and KYC file review: validates the correct data entry into the KYC tools based on the due diligence conducted and controls documentation format and content, to ensure adherence to due diligence guidelines. - Have profound KYC experience in analyzing documentation, assessing risks, completing risk assessments and providing a recommendation to internal stakeholders - Overviews the full client KYC file analysis, to ensue completeness and consistency before validation steps, substantiating the KYC review with a factual-based analysis. - Ensures high standard of quality in the KYC files in adherence to the bank’s policies and procedures. Additionally, acts as a subject matter expert to support KYC Due Diligence Teams and other stakeholders and to follow up on the implementation of new policies, procedures and communications from Compliance GCS

Your responsibilities

  • Data control and KYC file review: validates the correct data entry into the KYC tools based on the due diligence conducted and controls documentation format and content, to ensure adherence to due diligence guidelines. 
  • Have profound KYC experience in analyzing documentation, assessing risks, completing risk assessments and providing a recommendation to internal stakeholders 
  • Overviews the full client KYC file analysis, to ensue completeness and consistency before validation steps, substantiating the KYC review with a factual-based analysis. 
  • Ensures high standard of quality in the KYC files in adherence to the bank’s policies and procedures. Additionally, acts as a subject matter expert to support KYC Due Diligence Teams and other stakeholders and to follow up on the implementation of new policies, procedures and communications from Compliance GCS. 
  • Refers to relevant team members and/or managers to highlight data/quality inconsistency and suggest methods of resolution. In addition, identify root causes impacting the quality and training needs. 
  • Contribute to KPIs regarding quality (quality review including the review of Compliance results) and produce reports on the control results performed and identify area of improvement. 
  • Provides training to New Joiners.
  • Liases with Compliance, Relationship Managers and other senior stakeholders for KYC approval. 
  • Coordinates with KYC teams in other locations in order to streamline the multisite KYC approval process and ensure the completeness of the SS conditions. 
  • Prioritizes workload with shifting demands and priorities in a fast-paced commercial environment and ensures timely escalations to address identified risks and blocking points. 
  • Arranges, prepares and documents the Client Acceptance Committee (CAC) towards the final approval for the KYC file and coordinates the CAC meeting.

Who are you

·         Preferably two to four years of successful relevant work experience; preference for Due Diligence experience.

  • Strong Banking Industry knowledge
  • Good knowledge of (aggressive) tax planning
  • Good knowledge of the Money laundering and terrorism financing Act (Wet ter voorkoming van witwassen en financieren van terrorisme)
  • Good knowledge of Regulations/FATCA/AEoI
  • HBO/University (Bachelor/Master degree)level – with legal affinity or other relevant working experience.
