IT Tribe Invest and Financial Insurances is part of the IT department inside BNP Paribas Fortis located in Brussels. It builds and maintains the core securities supporting and handling systems of the bank, in an Agile way of working. We transform challenges into opportunities and anticipate the needs of our customers through innovative solutions.

AND IN DETAIL

  • As a Release Engineer you manage the release plan across a number of squads for the coming period, based on the underlying plans of the squads involved. You evaluate the risks, analyze the lead times, indicate and manage the dependencies.
  • You take into account contingency plans and coordinate activities between squads or even tribes. This requires good interaction with the release engineers of other tribes.
  • You monitor progress, identify important deviations between the planned delivery and the actual timelines and negotiate alternative solutions. You take care of the regular and specific communication to a broad group of stakeholders in order to ensure alignment on these plans.
  • You ensure that (software) configuration management in the tribe is carried out in a professional manner and you stimulate the introduction of version control for the software as leverage for operational quality.
  • You provide a consolidated deployment runbook for each release moment and ensure the acceptance of this document by all stakeholders. During deployment, you meticulously coordinate the correct execution of this runbook and communicate to the relevant stakeholders on the progress.

YOUR TALENTS AND COMPETENCES

  • Your communication skills enable you to interact constructively with different audiences, ranging from squad members to tribe leadership.
  • You demonstrate solution-oriented thinking.
  • You have a thorough knowledge of all activities that are covered in release management and configuration management.
  • You are able to integrate different squad plans into a consolidated release plan.
  • You have a Master degree or equivalent.
  • You have more than 8 years of IT experience. Experience as a release engineer in a complex application landscape would be a plus.
  • You speak very fluently in English. Dutch and French are a plus.
