As a Relation Manager Public Banking you advise your clients on financing, investments and cash management. You also deliver expertise in other fields jointly with other departments : leasing, debt capital markets, fixed income and commodities.

Public Banking, a unit of Corporate Coverage within Corporate Banking, has 3 business centres. One of them is ‘Public Institutions and Infrastructures’. This economic sector is composed of regional governments, supranationals and public infrastructure companies active in energy, transport, water and waste. A rapidly changing sector, driven by ambitious energy transition objectives and challenging public policy objectives. As of 2026, this team will equally cover the public entities that fall under the federal cashier mandate that was awarded to BNP Paribas Fortis.
- For a given portfolio, you act as privileged banking partner and central contact person between your clients and all parties within BNP Paribas Fortis (Cash Management, DCP, Global Markets, etc.) and the other BNP Group units (BNPP AM, BP2S, Arval, etc.) with a view to grow the business along Public Banking strategy and financial targets.
- You develop personal relationships with your clients at all layers of the organization (Treasury, CxO, Board) and with other stakeholders and other sector bodies.
- Leveraging on your interest and passion, you develop a deep understanding of your clients businesses and industries, knowledge that you happily share with colleagues and other services where it creates added value.
- You are in charge of the credit requests : from the analysis together with the credit unit, down to structuring and then validation in credit committees, with a focus on appropriateness and quality. You monitor your clients portfolio and follow-up the embedded risks.
- You offer adequate financial services in a pro-active way, connecting with the in-house specialists where specific expertise is required, and secure the coordination with the other support functions (Legal, Compliance, Tax), with a view to secure a seamless experience for your clients.
YOUR TALENTS AND COMPETENCES
- You are capable of handling complex files in a structured way.
- Being independent and dynamic, you are rather extravert and easily develop new working relationships and able to build a functional network.
- Your set of personal values include an ethical behaviour coupled to respect. Curiosity and the need to understand also drive you in life.
- You have good commercial and negotiation skills, and the proven capacity to convince and have an impact.
- Dealing with clients at senior level is a motivating factor for you.
- You have a deep understanding of the banking products and services offered by the BNP Group and a good comprehension of and sensitivity for risk matters.
- You are fluent in Dutch and you are proficient in English and you have a good working level of French.
- You have a very good command of Microsoft Office tools (word, excel and powerpoint) and a digital productivity mindset in general.
- You have a Master or Bachelor (Law, Engineer, Economics …) or can demonstrate equivalent experience.
