you must imperatively justify an internship agreement covering the entire period in question 

CONTEXT AND CHALLENGES

Fund Services Luxemburg team is part of the Global Client Service which is a key component of the Global Client Group at BNP Paribas Asset Management. The Client Service Open Funds team works in close collaboration together with the Client Account Managers and Client Relationship Managers as well as various internal departments both on Transfer Agent side and within the Management Company. Their principal objective is to :

  • provide and ensure best of class services for the client,
  • ensure timely and flawless execution of the following processes in partnership with all stakeholders involved.

As intern within Fund Services Luxemburg team, you will support the team to reach its objectives, working in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment. This opportunity will be the occasion for you:

  • To develop an overall vision of Client Service and Management Company activity
  • To work closely with various counterparties in an international environment 

WHAT’S YOUR DAY-TO-DAY MISSION?

Open Funds / Rebates

  • Open Funds lifecycle management, coordination of client communication on complex funds events and corporate actions, general support on specific trades, follow-up of deals with external custodians & TA
  • Coordinate the right set-up of distribution or rebate agreement on behalf of the client with internal (Finance, Legal, Compliance, Operations) and external stakeholders, and ensure completion
  • Manage by populating data into Salesforce, control the rebate rate and calculation methodology and  insure that Finance makes correct payments of the rebate amount to client/distributor in respect of the contractual obligations
  • Provide answers to questions/issues raised by client (on website, by mail, …) by also coordinating them with external service providers such as Transfer Agents and internal functions (i.e. Finance, Legal, etc.)

Projects and KPIs

  • Share ideas in process improvement and contribute to internal projects to streamline the process
  • Maintain relevant activity indicators by updating the Corporate system with all incoming queries, alerts etc.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the operational capabilities of BNP Paribas Asset Management 
  • Contribute to internal projects with a direct impact on Open Funds / Rebates & Clients’ experience
  • Provide support and advice to Client Relationship Managers and Client Account Managers on subjects linked to distribution activity or rebate agreements

Operational risk management

  • Be aware at all times of potential issues that can have an operational, financial or reputational impact for BNP Paribas Asset Management
  • Obtain internal approval on non-standard operational set-ups 
  • Involve Front to Back Process teams in case of unusual operational structures
  • Proactively alert any operational issue in the Corporate system and ensure that the complaints handling management policy is followed

Risk and Compliance

  • Adhere at all times to applicable laws, rules and regulations and internal procedures (Code of Ethics, management of conflicts of interest, Client Confidentiality, …)
  • Remain well aware of evolutions in applicable regulations and incorporate these in the process when required

Professional experience and/or degree

University educated with a degree in Business, Finance, or related subject

Techncical skills

  • Good knowledge of back and middle office operations
  • Broad knowledge of financial markets and the Asset Management industry
  • Salesforce (or other CRM tool) 
  • Good knowledge of MS Office

Language skills

  • Excellent English language skills (written & spoken)
  • Additional European language would be highly appreciated
