The UK
Institutional DM Rates Sales team provides coverage of public-side
institutional clients, including Hedge Funds, Real Money, Asset Managers, Banks
and Insurers. The team promotes BNP
Paribas’ services within the Developed Markets rates space, with a view to
servicing and maintaining a consistent dialogue with clients, driving and
developing the franchise and business.
Job Purpose & Scope
Purpose:
The [Institutional RM DM Rates Sales], Associate level role, will be accountable for the delivery of
routine, though often complex, activities in relation to transactions within
their respective business area. The role holder will work under supervision but
will be expected to be increasingly less reactive in the delivery of their
duties and capable of working with more confidence and a degree of
independence. The role holder will handle more basic transactions independently,
seeking assistance as required, and will focus on continuing to develop their
personal expertise and credibility.
Scope: GLOBAL
This role may be carried out within a range of experience depending on
the development of knowledge and skills in the role and the role-holder’s
ability to work with increased autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
- Intermediate/
developing professional accountable for the delivery of often complex but
routine activities within the Sales team. The role holder will work under the
supervision of more senior Sales professionals on matters related to the product
specialism of the team:
- Supporting the maintenance of
existing business, providing assistance with new products, clients, and developments
by completing the necessary administrative tasks
- Producing reports and presentations
to assist the Sales team
- Developing a good understanding
of the relevant products, tools and the market through a combination of formal
training and practical experience.
- Supporting the team with existing
and new business via backing up, operational tasks, and daily tasks such as commentary
and market colour
- Delivers
high quality content to the clients to become a trusted partner of key coverage
clients.
- Accountable
for delivering personal targets and objectives to support the performance of
the team under the general guidance of more senior Sales professionals.
- Covers small
sized accounts that require execution as well as providing content. Co-covers and/or backs up on clients, working
in conjunction with more experienced sales professionals
- Partners
with other business units and teams to design ideas, challenge positions and develop
new client opportunities.
- Works
under own initiative, beginning to support other more junior staff in the team
with tasks.
- Adheres
to and fully recognizes regulatory requirements and BNPP policy (including BNP
Paribas Code of Conduct)
The Requirements
- Professional
qualification required with some experience in a Sales role and where relevant,
qualification through extensive experience in a relevant technical area is
acceptable.
- Good
working knowledge of a wide range of BNPP policies, procedures, regulations and
legislation.
- Evidences
a good appreciation of economics and market dynamics, with enough understanding
to present views on market conditions and trends.
- Excellent
business relationship management and development skills.
- Works
harmoniously in different environments, on various tasks and jobs and with
different responsibilities and individuals.
- Computer
literacy and a good knowledge of standard computer software.
- Strong
interpersonal and communication skills.
