About the job

  • The position is a Counterparty Risk Analyst role within RISK Market and Financial Institutions (RISK MFI) dedicated to the analysis of the counterparty risk exposure of Global Market
  • RISK MFI provides the Senior Management of the Group, of the RISK Function and of Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) with full transparency and dynamic analysis and monitoring of market, counterparty, liquidity risks originated and managed by CIB GM and of credit risks on Financial Institutions to assist them in their risk decision making and monitoring
  • The position is part of the Counterparty Risk team of RISK MFI who analyses the counterparty risk exposure on specific names or a portfolio, monitors its aggregation across products and counterparty types, designs and maintains specific counterparty risk stress test methodologies, participates to the definition of the counterparty risk appetite and acts as point of contact on topics related to the collateral. The team works in close collaboration with the Credit Officers on Corporates and Financial Institutions
  • We are looking for a profile with one previous relevant experience who can rapidly develop an expertise into counterparty risk analysis of specific portfolios
  • The role requires agility to onboard oneself onto new topics to support the analysis or monitoring conducted by other team members or stakeholders

Your Main Activities Are

  • Produce portfolio review analysis related to the counterparty risk of CIB clients
  • Monitor market risk based metrics applied to counterparties portfolios of which Stress Testing
  • Regularly contribute to the improvements of the counterparty risk metrics analysis framework
  • Challenge and opinion on the information and views provided by the trading desks
  • Understand the market risks of the products traded by the counterparties and their potential for profit and loss
  • Analyse the risks with the tools available and drive the improvements of those tools
  • Adapt Stress Tests to the CIB positioning and the market environment

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Master’s Degree in Finance / Applied Mathematics / Science / Engineering or related
  • At least 2 years of experience in market risk or counterparty risk with an applied knowledge in derivatives and their risk management
  • Advanced level of English, both written and oral
  • Knowledge in programming, working knowledge of Python
  • Analytical ability
  • Ability to integrate information from diverse sources, often involving large amounts of information
  • Motivation to collaborate and share ideas and knowledge with team members
  • Understands clients’ needs and values constructive and positive feedback
  • Ability to ensure the precision, accuracy and thoroughness of the information manipulated or delivered
  • Ability to manage time, to plan, structure, prioritize and coordinate activities and resources effectively to reach objectives
  • Active in suggesting ideas and improvements and demonstrating curiosity
