The Equity Derivatives (EQD) Salesperson (Graduate) is responsible for supporting the delivery of bespoke hedging and investment solutions to institutional and distribution clients. This role serves as a critical link between market insights and client needs, focusing on mastering product knowledge, execution excellence, and relationship management to drive business growth within the Equity Derivatives desk.
Principal Role Accountabilities
- Support client engagement by preparing high-quality marketing materials, bespoke client presentations, and responding to RFPs to support the sales lifecycle.
- Ensure seamless trade execution by mastering the booking and processing of OTC and listed derivatives, maintaining high accuracy and adherence to bank protocols.
- Assist in facilitating informed decision-making for clients by monitoring market activity, revenue trends, and deal valuations to provide timely updates.
- Support risk management frameworks by performing credit exposure modelling and ensuring all activities comply with legal, regulatory, and internal risk limit guidelines.
- Optimize desk efficiency through the proactive maintenance of client databases and CRM systems to ensure data integrity for the broader Global Markets team.
- Build technical expertise in structured products and client solutions to transition from a support capacity to an active contributor in the sales process.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Middle Office, Risk, Compliance, and IT) to improve internal workflows and operational excellence.
- Participate in internal training and professional development initiatives to enhance departmental knowledge and market presence.
What is required for you to succeed?
- Technical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Education: A recent university degree (or expected completion within the current academic year) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a highly quantitative discipline.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Bloomberg or similar financial terminals is highly regarded.
- Mindset: A proactive, self-starting attitude with a strong desire to learn the intricacies of derivatives markets and a high level of attention to detail.
- Compliance: A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity and regulatory compliance.
Desired knowledge, skill, experience:
- Prior internship experience within Global Markets, Equity Derivatives, or a related financial services function.
- Understanding of basic derivative concepts (Options, Forwards, Swaps).
