Asset Valuation Analyst

Swindon - Hybrid working - Full-time

We’re Arval BNP Paribas – we’re a global leader in vehicle leasing and the fourth largest leasing company in the UK. Our passion for Service, Sustainability and Solutions is brought to life by each and every one of our people – who we call Journey Makers.

Culturally, we’re a friendly bunch – more human than corporate – and we serve a diverse customer base. From families choosing their first electric vehicle, to global brands seeking to switch their fleets to electric vehicles – whatever our customers’ mobility needs, we have a solution to offer.

Why join Arval?

In addition to the benefits and opportunities that come with being part of a progressive global banking group, we have a supportive and collaborative culture where wellbeing and work-life balance are taken seriously. Which is why we recently won the title of Employer of the Year in the South West Business of the Year Awards.

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to combine strong numerical and analytical skills with a genuine passion for cars. As an Asset Valuation Analyst, you'll be responsible for forecasting what vehicles will be worth in the future, supported by a combination of analysing real data and car market trends, with getting hands-on with the latest models, attending manufacturer launch events and even test driving brand new cars. Your future residual value forecasts will help Arval set accurate and competitive lease prices for our customers in a rapidly changing automotive market.

As an Asset Valuation Analyst, you’ll use data, market insight and analytical thinking to help us predict what vehicles will be worth in the future. This is much more than a reporting role. You’ll look for the story behind the numbers, spotting patterns and trends and using those insights to support well-informed valuation decisions. You’ll also work with colleagues and partner manufacturers, clearly explaining the evidence and thinking behind our valuations.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Analyse vehicle and market data to identify trends and insights that could influence future vehicle values
  • Apply our valuation methodologies, investigate values that don’t reflect the market and recommend appropriate action
  • Work with colleagues and partner manufacturers to review vehicles and clearly explain valuation decisions
  • Turn complex analysis into clear, accessible insight to support decision-making

What we’re looking for

You’re analytical and curious, and naturally want to understand what sits behind the numbers. You can move beyond reporting what has happened to understanding why it happened and what it might tell us about the future. You’re also a strong communicator who can turn complex analysis into a clear story for people who may not be data specialists.

You’ll also be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical skills, including spotting patterns, trends and meaningful insights in data
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis clearly
  • Curiosity, sound judgement and confidence in questioning what the data is telling you

Experience with SQL, Python or other coding languages would be useful, but isn’t essential.

The package

We offer a basic starting salary of up to £40,000, plus a bonus of up to £1,900. We also offer 25 days holiday as standard, plus bank holidays, an extra day off for your birthday and the option to purchase an additional 5 days.

We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Private medical cover, including a digital GP service
  • Company pension with up to 10% employer contribution
  • Discounts on our products and services and discounts in many high street brands
  • 2 paid volunteering days every year
  • Free on-site gym
  • Subsidised restaurant serving chef-prepared breakfast and lunch, plus discounted Costa Coffee
  • Plus, a range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle
