Application Production Support Specialist

The position at a glance
The candidate will act as Senior Application support specialist for Corporate and Institutional Banking Securities Services (CIB2S). The candidate will be required to provide solutions for complex technical and functional issues in a short time frame. The candidate will support multiple Applications within the BFS suite and ensure Service Delivery as per Business requirements and expectations.
The candidate will responsible for providing functional and technical support for TCS Bancs and other connected applications. The candidate will be responsible for analysis and resolution of complex Production events, ranging from IT incidents impacting application availability to business process support of custody activity covering trade settlements, corporate actions, cash processing, reconciliation, tax etc. This role also involves On Call support for production incidents and weekend support for production changes on a rotational basis.
Candidate is expected to have the desired domain knowledge and work experience for the role and carry out roles and responsibilities independently with minimal supervision.
In detail
Application Support
· Provide daily business process support to business users in securities services/custody domain- trade settlements, corporate actions, cash processing, tax, risk management, reconciliation etc.
· Ensure Production incidents impacting BAU are identified, communicated and resolved within the defined SLA’s. Create and share Post Incident Report (PIR) with occurrence, root cause, resolution and action items from the incident
· Act as a liaison between Business users and IT organization (local, global, internal or external groups, service providers or entities) to provide optimal response to any production issue that may impact business functions
· Perform level 1, 2 and 3 support for complex analysis of reported issues, and evaluate alternative business solutions and workarounds to minimize the impacts
· Conduct biweekly prioritization meetings with business stakeholders and ensure key issues impacting business are prioritized and resolved in a timely manner
· Coordinate with vendor teams for defect reproduction, diagnosis and testing of resolution
· Monitor application state, support dashboards and technical processes (Online, STP and batches) with help of provided tools and act proactively on failures
· Document system defects, problems and test scenarios. Participate in defect prioritization meetings with ADM and UAT teams
· Understand database concepts and provide complex SQL extractions to users
· Participate in ON call support of Custody applications when required and undertake appropriate actions – both functional and technical
· Coordinate and conduct weekend release rollouts, BCP/DR testing of Custody applications on a rotational basis
· Ensure excellent Communication, reporting and escalation as and when needed
IT Governance
· Responsible and accountable to strictly and consistently adhere to CIB2S NAR IT Governance policies and procedures – Incident management, Vendor management and change management
· Facilitate Compliance, Audit and Operational Risk investigations and requests. Document and modify support procedures and processes as per feedback on control policies
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in IT domain; advanced degree considered a plus
· Minimum 3 years of work experience with TCS Bancs application is a must
· Minimum 5 years of IT Application support/business analysis experience with an emphasis on trade settlements, corporate actions, cash processing (at least 2 of these)
· Strong working knowledge of SWIFT message formats and flows
· Strong working knowledge of Unix, SQL, Autosys, Quality Center, Sailpoint, ServiceNow and Jira
· Prior experience creating requirements documents, test scenarios, functional specifications, process flow diagrams and procedures
· Overall General IT knowledge is a must
