For the first time, the BNP Paribas Group has received recognition as one of Europe's most attractive employers, obtaining ‘Top Employers 2014 Europe' certification. This seal of approval, conferred by the Top Employers Institute, recognises high standards of excellence in the working conditions that employers create for their people. Optimal employee conditions ensure that people are able to develop, both personally and professionally
BNP Paribas obtained this European regional certification following successful local surveys and audit in five separate countries. The Group's establishments in those five countries will also receive national certification, formally awarded during the month of February.
This certification is the result of an attractive Human Resources policy that meets the very highest standards.
Over the past ten years, BNP Paribas has seen strong international growth and a rapid increase in the number of employees working for the Group. In this situation, the Group is determined to enhance its employer brand in order to attract the most talented people and unite all staff.
An employee survey conducted by the Top Employers Institute revealed four major areas generally recognised by staff as being strong points of BNP Paribas: the attractiveness of the brand and the business model; career management; training; and ‘People Care'*.
Career management and training, areas to which BNP Paribas attaches particular importance, were identified by both employees and job applicants as a positive point, as the Group's policy is to foster job mobility across departments and geographies. The figures show that every employee receives on average 25 hours of training per year.
Last but not least, ‘People Care' is recognised by the majority of BNP Paribas staff as a key management principle. This demonstrates that there is widespread adherence at the Group to the principles of respect for people, fairness and diversity, and a strong team spirit. Yves Martrenchar, Group Head of Human Resources at BNP Paribas, underlined: "Every person who joins the Group must be made to feel at home here if he or she is to fully buy into and help to achieve BNP Paribas' plans and goals. An employee who feels respected and well-treated will show loyalty to the Group and perform better.”
