With podcasts, spotlights on remarkable archives, Retronews videos, and more, the BNP Paribas Well of History website offers new content and an enhanced search function. Whether you are an historian, an enthusiast, a student or just curious, travel through two centuries of history and archives with 552 historical annual reports, over 150 contextualised archive documents, 180 illustrated articles and much more.

The Well of History website showcases the bank’s heritage and provides an insight into economic and social history and international relations over time. Nearly 1,000 documents, videos, annual reports, posters, notices and themed files are available to the public.

New features to enhance the reader’s journey 

Launched in 2015 by the BNP Paribas Archives & History department, the Well of History website has been redesigned by reorganising and enriching its content. Its design, user journeys and editorial content have been revamped to offer a new experience tailored to the needs of each user.

  • Fine tune searches with advanced filters (theme, date, region, type of content, etc.) 
  • Choose the format you prefer: articles, themed files, videos, podcasts, etc.  
  • Select articles according to their reading time
