Global Markets help their franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk. The Global Equities Global Business Line (“GBL”) consists of the Prime Services, Cash Equity and Equity Derivatives Business Lines (“Business Line”). The role is to cover all COO-related aspects required to support directly the Heads of the Cash Equities Business Line as well as the desk heads.

Responsibilities:
The COO Organization/Business Management team contributes directly to the business development and its sound operation. They also facilitate and optimize the interaction between the Front Office and its Business Partners.
The Global Equities Americas Business Manager will be part of this COO Organization. She/He will report directly to the Global Equities Americas COO and be part of the Global Markets Business Management team.
The Global Equities Global Business Line (“GBL”) consists of the Prime Services, Cash Equity and Equity Derivatives Business Lines (“Business Line”).
The role is to cover all COO-related aspects required to support directly the Head of the Business Line as well as the desk heads.
Her/his key responsibilities include:
- Support the Head of the Business Line/Desk Heads in their internal governance
- Participate in governance & communication routines to steer the Business Line/desks, ensuring proper tracking of decisions and follow-up of actions. Make sure the relationship with the regions is properly articulated.
- Leverage on the Strategy & Client Development teams, ensure regular benchmark with competition to feed the development or adjustment of the strategy and roadmap.
- Represent the Business Line in internal forums with regional heads of GBLs and/or regional heads of desks (trading and sales.
2. Contribute to new business projects for the Business Line
- Assist Management and Project Sponsors, help them drive business projects and ensure that all the necessary actors are involved when required.
- In coordination with other teams, identify improvement areas within the Front Office organization and define and implement solutions to streamline Front Office business processes.
- Assist in the NAC/TAC process for new activity and transaction approvals; coordinate the preparation of the documentation with the business, ITO and functions to ensure that all necessary aspects are addressed.
- Coordinate the Business Line relationship with Business Partners: Compliance, Legal, Risk-IM, IT, Operations, Finance
- In coordination with the COO, keep our Business Partners up to date on the Business Line organization and business evolutions
- Ensure that Business Line organization changes are communicated and explained to all Business Partners.
- Update our Partners on all major new activities or initiatives
- Serve as an entry point to the Business Partners when necessary
- Help them understand Business Line priorities and requirements (Budget process, development priorities, clients’ sensitivity).
- Organize the escalation process to the Business Line: Provide escalation rules, define key contacts, help our Partners in identifying the right contact within the Business Line and be a last resort escalation point.
- Organize feedback to the Business Partners on the services they deliver to the Business Line.
- Help partners conduct the "change management" to business processes when required.
- Ensure the Business Line organization global coherence vis-à-vis their Partners
- Ensure global consistency of Business Line requests to Partners and validate budget reallocation according to priority shifts.
- Make sure that priorities are well understood and taken into account by our Partners
- Work for the alignment of business strategy and Partners' resources and propose arbitrages when necessary.
- Contribute to the governance of projects through their active participation in steering committee and by requesting relevant Sponsor to attend.
4. Ensure that Management has the required performance and management indicators
- Build or coordinate the development of relevant MIS/KPI for the heads of Business Line, in liaison with the Data Office.
- Ensure that these MIS/KPI are produced systematically and regularly.
- In coordination with the various departments involved, produce when required ad-hoc analysis of the activity according to management requirements (P&L, CC, Risk indicators, cash limits, cash usage, costs, fees, client portfolios turnover, client profitability) and contribute to the Front Office budget process.
5. Act as FO referent for support and firefighting
- Assist in troubleshooting major or crisis situations and leverage on the organization to solve issues.
- Support management on business issues including operations, IT, Finance, Tax, Regulatory framework, Legal or compliance, etc.
6. Contribute to global Control Framework and Risk monitoring
- Assist in the definition and enforcement of business procedures, guidelines and policies
- Contribute to the identification of risk areas and the control framework required to mitigate them
- Keep business procedures and duties up to date.
- Organize training of Business Line staff on policies and procedures relevant to their activity.
- When necessary, assist in internal and external audits, including General Inspection, CIB Audit or Regulatory Bodies inspection.
- Guide inspection team within the Business Line.
- Follow-up on recommendations and work for their timely closing.
- Contributes to implementation of new regulatory requirements specific to the GBL/Desks/Region.
- Represent the Business Line, upon request, during Operations or Permanent Control committees.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a large bank or similar organization.
- Good knowledge of Global Equities markets and products, particularly in cash equities
- Good knowledge of clients, industry and processes covered in a Global Markets activity.
- Experience in business strategy implementation.
- Project management skills with an outstanding track record of achievement.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $165,000 to $200,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
