Trader ALM Treasury
The ALM Treasury Brazil front officer contributes to all Liquidity Risk, IRRBB and FXRBB management activities for the Banco BNP Paribas Brasil S.A. entity (“Bank”), among other tasks which are better detailed within this Job Description.
The ALM Treasury Brazil front officer is a senior ALM Treasury member in Brazil. They hierarchically and functionally report to the Local Head of ALM Treasury Brazil. They participate in the Brazil Assets & Liabilities Committee (ALCo) for the Prudential Conglomerate and are a permanent guest of the committee, chaired by the Country Head.
Main responsibilities:
- Liquidity Risk Management
- Comply with the limits governing the ALM Treasury and/or the Conglomerate’s activity
- Steer liquidity risk in business-as-usual conditions:
- Optimizing the liquidity risk positions through an active management of the local balance sheet mismatches
- Contributing to the optimization objectives of the Group’s liquidity buffer excesses investments
- Management and execution of the liquidity buffer investments in the marketplace
- Manage liquidity risk in stressed and/or crisis situations
- IRRBB and FXRBB Management
- Comply with the limits governing the ALM Treasury and/or the Conglomerate’s activity
- Conglomerate’s RAS metrics: ΔNII, ΔEVE
- Steer market risks in business-as-usual conditions:
- Executing FXRBB mitigation strategies in the marketplace
- Executing IRRBB mitigation strategies in the marketplace
- Seeking optimization of IRRBB and/or FXRBB positions by expressing market views with a risk-balanced approach
- Resources Management
- Establish & comply with the framework created to mitigate volatility & enable efficiency & allow proper P&L sign-off within the perimeter:
- Building & maintaining an appropriate flash economic P&L report
- Building & maintaining an appropriate Risk Dashboard with the main risk factors related to the activity
- Mitigating the accounting P&L volatility by implementing suitable hedge accounting strategies
Position Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a highly quantitative field. A Master’s degree or MBA is strongly preferred.
- Certifications: Relevant financial certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, or local Brazilian certifications like CPA-20/CEA) are an advantage.
- ALM & Treasury Knowledge: Deep understanding of Asset and Liability Management (ALM), including liquidity risk, interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB), and foreign exchange risk in the banking book (FXRBB).
- Risk Management: Proven experience in managing liquidity buffers, mitigating market risks, and navigating stressed or crisis scenarios.
- Quantitative Skills: Strong ability to manage balance sheet mismatches, optimize liquidity positions, and implement hedge accounting strategies to mitigate P&L volatility.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese.
