Position Purpose

We are looking for an energetic, proactive & competent candidate to fulfil the role of an Oracle PLSQL developer for the global markets trade processing department

Application is a real‑time multi-asset settlement platform that processes >500k OTC derivatives trades daily covering FX, Equities, Credits, Rates & Commodities.

The system guarantees that every announcement, confirmation, payment and accounting entry is posted within seconds, 24 × 7. As the business expands with ever-evolving settlements perimeter involving CLSNET, CLSMain, we need a performance‑focused PL/SQL expert to keep the engine fast, reliable, and future‑ready. 

We are looking for an energetic, proactive & competent candidate to shape the next‑gen settlement engine that processes half‑a‑million OTC derivative trades every day

This application consists of a .NET based front end communicating with backend written in Pro*C, PL/SQL and Python. The Database is Oracle 19c. The backend consists of performance critical processes and batches which implement core of the system. As the business is growing, new functionalities and features need to be incorporated which not only exceed user expectations but also meet the stringent performance and security requirements. A successful candidate would have a unique opportunity to be part of a global team located across multiple locations (Mumbai, London, Paris & Lisbon) to develop and implement large scale changes. The role also offers an opportunity to understand and strengthen capabilities across the capital markets technology landscape. 

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

·         Design & develop high‑quality, maintainable PL/SQL modules that meet functional and non‑functional (performance, security) requirements.

·         Performance engineering – Profile, tune, and optimise SQL statements, execution plans, and PL/SQL code using AWR/ASH, DBMS_PROFILER, SQL*Plus, and Oracle Optimizer hints.

·         Architectural reviews – Participate in design sessions, provide capacity‑planning inputs, and define indexing/partitioning strategies for large batch jobs.

·         Documentation & standards – Produce technical design documents, perform code‑review, and ensure adherence to SDLC, risk‑management and security policies.

·         Level‑3 support – Quickly investigate production incidents, deliver hot‑fixes or work‑arounds, and mentor L1/L2 support teams.

·         Cross‑team liaison – Partner with upstream data‑feed teams, downstream accounting platforms, and infrastructure groups (Linux/Unix) to ensure end‑to‑end stability.

·         ≥ 5 years of professional PL/SQL development (Oracle 19c experience mandatory).

·         Deep knowledge of RDBMS concepts, execution‑plan analysis, indexing, partitioning, and query optimisation.

·         Strong verbal and written communication; ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
