Job Purpose  

 The Senior Financial Accountant plays a key role in supporting the service delivery of the Fund Administration teams and meeting our clients' statutory reporting requirements.   

 The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for the preparation and review of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly and year end deliverables for our clients, covering financial statements, APRA reporting, ABS reporting, as well as understanding and implementing the operational risk and legislative requirements of BNP Paribas. 

Principal Role Accountabilities

          Review Regulatory Reporting for managed investment schemes, superannuation funds, life and insurance companies and LICs.  

     Ensure that deliverables to clients are delivered accurately and on time in accordance with agreed Service level agreements (SLA).  

            Manage client and auditor queries 

          Ensure that client and audit queries are resolved in a timely manner and that any issues are escalated to the Assistant Financial Reporting Manager or Financial Reporting Manager.    

          Resolution of accounting & general ledger queries from the business and clients 

          Assisting with related systems, process or internal change initiatives and process improvements 

          Ensure all procedures and Regulatory Reporting documentation is standardized, up to date and fit for purpose.                                                               

Perform formal supervision and controlled self-assessment testing of procedures and deliverables with our agreed risk management framework.

          Support the wider team at peak periods and act as the operational cover for colleagues, including cross training.  

 Other contributions 

If applicable, may perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.

 What is required for you to succeed?  

          Commercial experience in financial services, preferably with technical accounting  experience in financial reporting in investments funds and super funds 

          Knowledge of fund accounting and financial reporting systems to a level commensurate with the role.  

          Up to date knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.  

          Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.  

          Demonstrated history of being results focused and excellent attention to detail 

          Enthusiastic and motivated with the ability to proactively solve problems in a creative and pragmatic manner.  

          Demonstrated history of collaboration and uplifting service.  

          Advanced Excel knowledge 

Required education/certification/licenses

          Degree qualified in Business, Accounting or related discipline. 

          Qualified or part-qualified in Accounting (CA/CPA).
