The position at a glance

RISK function is the Bank’s Second Line of Defense, providing independent review, challenge and communication on the risk profile generated by all business lines.
 “RISK – RISK Strategic Governance & Credit Platform Americas” (RISK SGCP) is a transversal team within the Risk Function covering all businesses, countries where the Group is established. Its main missions are centered on:

  • Data management,
  • Reporting of credit and counterparty risks, 
  • Strategic risk analysis, including coordination of Risk forums,
  • Data Analytics & governance topics,

In detail

  • Design, code, test, and maintain Python scripts that automate data extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting tasks.
  • Analyze existing SAS programs, understand data flow and business logic and reimplement functional equivalents in Python using libraries such as pandas
  • Gather requirements from business users and translate them into visualization specifications. Build, test, and publish Power BI reports and dashboards that consume data pipelines produced in Python.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes, suggest best‑practice tools, and contribute to the team’s knowledge base.
  • To streamline credit‑risk reporting so that it meets the requirements of internal stakeholders (Board of Directors, senior management, CRO) and external parties (supervisory authorities, rating agencies).
  • Enhance and expand the current dashboards to provide a forward‑looking perspective on risk‑related metric
  • Suggest process improvements, new controls to lead to better data quality
  • Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of the English is required. 

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Must have technical knowledge like SAS, Python, Power BI (other similar visual tools)
  • Ability to dissect manual processes, identify repetitive steps, and propose automated alternatives.
  • Advanced reporting software skills 
  • Good knowledge of credit & counterparty risk
  • Good organization skills to manage under tight deadlines the complexity of processes and the high number of stakeholders to coordinate
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with a willingness to develop and practice presenting information to senior‑management
  • Sense of details, accuracy and presentation without losing the “main picture”
  • Commitment to deliver results in line with client’s expectations
  • Resilience to heavy workload and flexibility to work on varied streams in the team
